Getting Ready for Your Gaia Onboarding

Preparation for onboarding with Gaia

Written by Tom Petley

Before your training session, please prepare the information below. You don't need to enter anything into the system yet — this is just about gathering the right data so that we can move quickly on the day.

1. Reporting Period

This defines the date range you want to measure your carbon footprint across. Please confirm:

  • Period name — e.g. "FY 2024/25" or "Calendar Year 2024"

  • Start date — must be the 1st of a month (e.g. 1 April 2024)

  • End date — e.g. 31 March 2025

  • Is this your base year? — i.e. the baseline year you will measure future progress against (yes / no)

  • Number of employees during this period (optional but useful for intensity metrics)

  • Total revenue during this period (optional, same reason)

  • Name of the subsidiary / business unit

  • Country it operates in

  • A short reference code if you use one internally (optional)

If you report as a single entity, you can skip this section.

What Happens Next

Once you have this information ready, bring it along to your training session. We will:

  1. Walk through entering the above data together

  2. Show you how to upload your energy and activity data

  3. Run through reporting and how to read your results
